Automatic migrations - A long-requested feature debuts in PanelAlpha v1.7.0!

If WordPress migrations were occasional, few people would give them much thought. In practice, they show up all the time, usually under pressure and rarely in ideal conditions. PanelAlpha v1.7.0 takes that reality seriously. This release centers on a new Site Migrator Plugin that brings automated WordPress migrations directly into the PanelAlpha environment.

What that means in practice:

  • You can choose between two plugin-based approaches: provide wp-admin credentials and let the process run automatically, or install the plugin manually on the source site.
  • For more complex or restricted setups, the FTP/SFTP migration method remains available.
  • Larger databases and media-heavy sites are handled through asynchronous transfers, improving reliability while reducing load on the underlying infrastructure.

Beyond migrations, the PanelAlpha Engine has been expanded with broader PHP version support, additional security hardening, and stability improvements across web servers and background services.

To see how all the pieces of version 1.7.0 makes WordPress management noticeably easier to live with, the changelog and release notes offer the complete picture:
