Last week, PanelAlpha Engine 2.0 put the project on a completely new track: open source, beyond WordPress, and ready to self-host any project on your own VPS. Now we want to keep moving in that direction with regular updates, starting with this one just a week later.
PanelAlpha Engine 2.0.1 includes a few features we originally wanted in 2.0, along with some smaller improvements that were ready to go. The main ones are:
-
Password protection - projects can now be protected as soon as they are created, including through MCP and the API.
-
More control over AI access - you can choose between full access, confirmation for higher-risk actions or a restricted mode that blocks them.
-
Automatic deploys from Git - Engine can now generate webhooks for GitHub, GitLab and Bitbucket, so pushing new code can trigger a fresh deployment automatically.
The changelog also covers improvements around Engine resource usage, MCP context, deploy cleanup, transfer and visitor statistics, PHP settings and a few other areas.
PanelAlpha Engine 2.0.1 is live on GitHub now. Give it a try with something real, test it with different projects and let us know how it goes. Tell us what works, what you think is still missing, or jump into the code yourself!
