PanelAlpha Engine 2.0 is here - Open source and built for any project!

We have just released PanelAlpha Engine 2.0, and with it we are expanding PanelAlpha far beyond its original potential. The Engine is now fully open source and built for a much bigger world than WordPress.

That broader scope is especially relevant now. AI is making it much easier to create software, while open source keeps giving us more useful applications we can run ourselves. What has not become equally simple is everything that happens once you want to put that software on your own VPS and keep it healthy.

PanelAlpha Engine 2.0 is our attempt to make that part much less demanding. You install it on your own VPS, connect your preferred AI assistant and manage your projects in plain language, whether they’re vibe-coded tools, websites or open source apps. The Engine handles the server work behind those requests, while keeping projects isolated and leaving the infrastructure under your control.

Think of this release as an open invitation to build with us. Run something real on Engine 2.0 and tell us how it goes. We want to know what Engine gets right, what it gets wrong, and what you think deserves our attention next.

The release notes cover the whole milestone with a more personal look at what this moment represents. GitHub is there too if you want to get straight into the code.
